What does an AI consultant actually do?

An AI consultant finds the tasks where AI can save time, chooses and configures the right tools, makes sure data and permissions are safe, builds automations or assistants and trains staff. The goal is measurable hours saved — not a demo that never gets used.

How much does AI consulting cost?

It depends on scope. A readiness assessment and use-case workshop is a small, fixed piece of work; building automations or a custom assistant costs more; and tool subscriptions are billed by the vendor per user. We scope each stage in writing so you can stop after any of them.

Is our data safe with Microsoft 365 Copilot or ChatGPT?

Business plans from the major providers commit not to train their models on your data, which is an important difference from personal accounts. The bigger risk is access: Copilot can surface anything a user already has permission to open, so we review file sharing and permissions before rollout.

Will AI replace our staff?

For most small businesses, AI takes over tasks rather than jobs: first drafts, data entry, summaries and routine replies. The time saved usually goes back into client work, sales or the backlog nobody gets to — which is why we measure results in hours returned to the team.

Do we need perfect data before starting with AI?

No, but some tidying helps. For tools like Copilot, clean file permissions matter more than perfect data. For automation, a consistent process matters more than a new tool — automating a messy process just produces mess faster. An assessment shows what needs fixing first.
